Just a quick post to let you know that I have not gone into labor. My mother-in-law is visiting and we are just having a nice time talking about pregnancy, birth, and parenting. I have some pics to post, but don't have my camera with me, so I will have to post them later.
I am still very pregnant awaiting his arrival, but sort of feel that I may still be waiting another week.
Oh, I did work my last day in the archives. I am officially unemployed.

I will officially be unemployed two weeks before my due date. I know that it is socially acceptable for a wife to stay at home to raise the kid, but it is just not in my mind set. I don't see myself as becoming a stay at home mom. Instead, I feel like I will be unemployed and raising a baby (or perhaps a nicer way to say that is 'looking for a job while taking care of the baby').
I had the same problem when I was between jobs last time. We could survive with one salary, but it wasn't about the money. There is a difference between being a house wife and being unemployed. It is purely a difference in perspective, but as a trained woman who is geared toward interesting work outside of the home, I feel a difference. I haven't been able to internalize the idea that the house house is my job, so I need to find other work to make myself useful (I am pretty useless around the house).
Hopefully I do a better job at taking care of the baby!
It's the home stretch-literally! I wish you lots of patience and comfort. :)
